Hi Ho, It's the savings life for me
I made my monthly trip to Grocery Outlet in the hopes that I would strike gold and find some cold process, natural - as-organic as-possible soap and other organic goodies.
I typically buy Sudz and it's $5 a bar and I cringe every time but I refuse to buy other brands because I know how it's made (I'm a lazy soap maker and I hate waiting 3 months for my soap to cure - b.t.w - large soap manufacturers remove the glycerin from soap, hence making it a detergent bar that drys your skin, and then put the glycerin in lotion so you will have to buy more product. Also, there are lot of chemicals allowed in soap I don't want to use).
So what do I find at my favorite cheap-o store:
Sudz Bare Naked Soap - Retail price $5.95 Grocery Outlet price - $0.99 - I bought 10
Horizon Organic unsalted Butter - Retail Price $5.99 Grocery Out price - $1.49 - I bought 1
RW Knuden Recharge - Retail Price $1.79 Grocery Outlet price - $0.99 - I bought 3
Amy's Apple Pie - Retail Price - $3.49 Grocery Outlet price - $1.49 - I bought 1
Total Bill - $15.85
Total Savings $58

Stumble It!

3 cents:
WOW! You did good my friend! I wish we had a store like that here. Be awhile before South Georgia catches on to that, lol if ever.
Our nearest grocery outlet is 40 miles away (4-5 gals of gas in my car). Do you think it would be worth it to go once or twice a month anyways?
Sunny,
Wow, 40 miles is a long drive. In PDX if I drive anywhere that takes me more than 30 minutes I get grumpy. I think that it's worth one trip to see what kinda of savings your looking at. I try to buy as organic as possible and the prices that they have on organic products more than make up for the gas that I spend. I think that last time I was there I spent $60 but saved $120.
